Nancy Connors

James “Skip” Rogers Jr., of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, died on Dec. 15, 2012, at the age of 63.  He was a great friend with a warm smile.

from his published obituary: 

James Russell Rogers, Jr., known to family and friends as Skip or Jim, died suddenly on Saturday, December 15th at home. He left behind a wife and son amongst other relatives. 

Jim (Skip) grew up among a large extended family north of Chapel Hill. He was an avid Duke basketball fan and a voracious reader. He was a dedicated and active runner and cyclist. Jim graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 1967 and earned a BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University. He worked in management at Kmart in Ohio, Michigan, and North Carolina for over 25 years and for 10 years with Harris Teeter in Chapel Hill.

He was a great guy. My favorite comment by him was once he said he was going to the gym to "improve on perfection"

Janet Frost (Frost-Naleski)

I was sorry to hear that Jim had passed.  He was a man with a purpose.  A strong and kindly person. I am sure that he is greatly missed by many.  I had hoped to see him at the reunion.
