John was my roommate sophomore year at the Delt House. We had a good time together and slept in the "cold" sleeper room with eight bunk beds. John slept in an upper bed next to a window, which was always open, even during the winter. One winter morning when I needed to get up for an 8am class, and as it looked like he was waking up, his blanket was covered with snow. He noticed it, but just went back to sleep. You could also see your breath in the room that morning. John could be spontaneous. One weekend we had nothing to do, along with another Delt, Dick Innis. So, we decided to drive to John's home in Detroit, along with some lady friends that somehow joined us. Another time during a concert at the old gymnasium, a girl I dated at OSU had fixed John up with a date, but we had difficulties finding one another and ran all over the place in an effort to all get together - like in a Seinfeld episode. Of course, this was BC (Before Cellphones). I lost track of John, but will always remember him as a good friend and roommate.
